U.S Army Censoring Soldiers Access To News In Wake Of PRISM Scandal

As if the NSA and PRISM spying on its own citizens wasn’t enough now The Next Web reveals that the U.S army has been censoring what information its soldiers received. Apparently the U.S army is blocking access to coverage of the PRISM/NSA scandal on the Guardian, RT.com and other reputable news sites – so much for free speech and free press. And if you thought that was bad enough then it isn’t just internet coverage that is being blocked, apparently other media is being restricted as well such as what TV channels are shown, what radio stations are broadcasted and what Printed Press the soldiers are allowed to read.

A spokesperson for the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command of the U.S army said that:

“We make every effort to balance the need to preserve information access with operational security, however there are strict policies and directives in place regarding protecting and handling classified information”

We’ve now seen spying in the form of PRISM, lying and deception as the NSA boss says he knows nothing about WikiLeaks and censorship as the U.S military blocks what soldiers are entitled to read. You just wonder how long the American government can continue with its hypocritical actions before people start to hit back.
