Ubisoft Has Completely Improved Assassin’s Creed Shadows Graphics on Switch 2
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received a major update across all platforms with patch 1.1.8. The update adds new features such as manual jumping, visual adjustments, and other improvements. On Nintendo Switch 2, however, the most noticeable changes are in the graphics.
A comparison video by ElAnalistaDeBits shows the before and after differences following the patch. Ubisoft has continued working to optimize Shadows for Nintendo’s current console. The Switch 2 version launched in December and was already well received for being a solid adaptation. While it had some cuts compared to other platforms, the results were considered impressive for a portable system.
Major Visual Improvements on Switch 2
The video confirms that Ubisoft introduced several visual upgrades in version 1.1.8 for Switch 2. One of the most dramatic changes can be seen in the water. It now features proper reflections, whereas before the effect looked much simpler and less realistic. The draw distance has also been improved, allowing more objects and details to appear in the distance.
Other areas such as textures and lighting do not seem to have changed significantly. However, every location that includes water — lakes, rivers, and puddles — now looks better. Importantly, performance does not appear to have suffered. The game still runs quite steadily at 30 frames per second.
With this latest update, Assassin’s Creed Shadows feels more polished than ever on Switch 2, offering players a smoother and more refined experience.
