Ubisoft Is “Committed and Focused” on Continuing Beyond Good and Evil 2 Development
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was shown several years ago, and Ubisoft has repeatedly stated that the game is still in development. However, after recent events surrounding the French company, new doubts have appeared about its future. The latest update confirms that the project now has a new creative director.
In any case, Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been confirmed as part of one of the new creative hubs announced by Ubisoft as part of its new phase. More specifically, creative director Fawzi Mesmar has stated that the team is “committed and focused on delivering a remarkable game for our players to enjoy.”
Development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 Continues
In recent statements, Mesmar explained that his team has not been affected by the changes taking place at Ubisoft: “I am saddened by the cancellations that has affected my colleagues in other parts of Ubisoft and the industry. I urge everyone – myself included – to offer support whenever and however they can during these times.”
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was originally announced back in 2008 and was later shown again in 2017. In recent years, there has been very little news about the game, especially after the departure of its former lead creator, Michel Ancel, who left Ubisoft in 2020.
Despite the long silence and internal changes at the company, Ubisoft insists that development is still moving forward and that the project remains an active part of its future plans.
