It’s been a bit of a weird day for Ubisoft, as someone at their HQ was clearly sitting there looking at a big red button that said “DO NOT PRESS” and got a bit bored. Obviously, nobody was looking, they hit the button, and published the full Beyond Good and Evil Remaster.
Shortly after, they obviously got into a lot of trouble, as they tried to undo the publishing, tried to delete all evidence to the fact, and failed miserably. But since the cat is officially out of the bag, they’ve since relented and just gone ahead and officially announced it. So it seems pretty much set in stone now, and a Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary remaster is on the way sometime in early 2024.
It’s also been made clear that despite being published, the game isn’t in its final state. If you were one of the lucky ones to get it on their Ubisoft+ subscription, Ubisoft says that this version was “not indicative of the final game” so take any videos and screenshots with a pinch of salt. I’d post some here, but DMCA takedowns are in effect, so it’s really not worth the effort right now.
