As is the norm in the Gaming world, developers recieve hands on time with the latest hardware before anyone else. Whether it be Hardware development kits or concept designs, they’ve seen it first. Ubisoft have seen the future of Nintendo, and apparently, its “Fantastic”.
I remember the launch of the Wii, it was fantastic! Motion gaming was the coolest thing ever, and then, it wasn’t. The thrill of using my body to control a game died out in under a month. It got old to me, fast. The world took longer though, and the Wii’s sales trumped that of the Xbox 360 and PS3 by miles. Families could now play together and have fun in a happy environment. Now it would seem, there getting bored too. The sales have fallen sharply this year for the companies flagship console, and as such, Nintendo have introduced price cuts to attract some more buyers.
The latest fad for the company is 3D, and so its hard to see then, where the next console will be headingl Can Nintendo keep the scene fresh? According to Ubisoft, they can:
“The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in an investor call. “We think it will be extremely successful. What we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform. So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We’ll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms.”
We havent seen the specs on this beast yet, but its indicated that it will be more powerful than the 360 and PS3. Im excited already: We’ll find out what Nintendo has planned for us next month at E3 2011.
