Valkyrie V240 Lite AIO CPU Cooler Review
How Much Does it Cost?
The Valkyrie V240 Lite is available now on Amazon for £106.55, but I strongly suggest you shop around as that is above the MSRP. It’s currently on CCL Computers for just £79.99, and you can even buy it directly from Valkyrie for £81.42, so you’ve got plenty of options there. Plus, it’s available in black or white, so you can easily pick one that suits your taste. While the price is lower than some other big-name rivals, largely due to many brands putting expensive LCD displays on their otherwise similar coolers, there’s undoubtedly a lot of performance here for a very reasonable investment.
Overview
The V240 Lite firmly establishes itself as a high-performance 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler aimed at tackling the demanding thermal loads of modern CPUs, boasting a substantial 250W TDP capacity. While labelled “Lite,” this cooler is anything but lightweight in performance, leveraging Valkyrie’s patented, award-winning pump design and purpose-built B12 fans that deliver fantastic static pressure. Visually, it stands out with a bold, mechanical industrial aesthetic highlighted by the exposed circuit board on the pump unit. It offers wide compatibility for both Intel and AMD sockets, ensuring it can be used in a vast range of gaming and enthusiast builds.
Build Quality
As expected from Valkyrie, the V240 Lite demonstrates excellent build quality throughout. The aluminium radiator, paired with a pure copper cold plate for superior heat transfer, has durable yet flexible tubing with pivoting mounts at the pump and, of course, those lovely quality fans. The fans have durable fluid dynamic bearings and a wide RPM range for whisper-quiet performance at low loads and powerful cooling performance when it’s needed. With Valkyrie manufacturing their own motors, pumps, fans, radiators and well, basically everything else, they have complete control over the quality of their products, and it really shows.
Ease of Use
The V240 Lite is refreshingly straightforward to install, thanks to features like the flexible tubing and rotatable pump. One major advantage of this cooler is its compact pump housing; unlike bulkier AIOs with integrated displays, the V240 Lite maximises compatibility with smaller cases and minimises potential interference with motherboard components or RAM choices. The magnetically mounted pump top is another smart feature, allowing users to quickly remove it, rotate it 90 degrees, and ensure the Valkyrie logo is always correctly aligned regardless of the pump’s orientation. Furthermore, the inclusion of all necessary mounting hardware for popular AMD and Intel sockets like LGA 1851, 1700, AM5, and AM4 makes it easy to accommodate into any build.
Aesthetics
Valkyrie has successfully given the V240 Lite a truly unique visual identity that steers away from typical minimalist designs. The centrepiece is the pump unit, which proudly showcases an exposed circuit board under a clear viewing section, delivering a distinct industrial aesthetic that will appeal to enthusiasts who appreciate technical design. Even when unpowered, the pump is striking. Once lit up, the addressable RGB system takes over. The fans feature frosted blades, allowing the ARGB lighting from the motor housing to diffuse evenly, creating a stunning lightshow, and even more ARGB on the pump housing too.
Performance
The performance of the V240 Lite is exceptional. Despite its 240mm size, it managed to significantly outperform several larger 360mm AIOs in our charts, demonstrating the sheer efficiency of Valkyrie’s patented pump and high-static-pressure fan combination. It successfully crushed the temperatures of our notoriously demanding Intel Core i9-12900K processor, maintaining excellent thermal control even under heavy load. When utilising optimised settings, such as a slight undervolt, the temperatures dropped even further. While the high-speed capabilities of the fans mean the cooler can become audible at its maximum 2150 RPM setting, the fact that it offers so much cooling performance on a high-end CPU means users can easily dial back the fan curve to achieve whisper-quiet operation on lower TDP processors or prioritise acoustics over maximum cooling on more demanding chips.
Should I Buy One?
If you are building a high-performance PC with a demanding CPU and require a 240mm form factor AIIO for broader compatibility, the Valkyrie V240 Lite is an easy recommendation. With its unique aesthetics, superb build quality, excellent cooling performance, and competitive five-year warranty, it makes it one of the most compelling options currently available, and best of all, the price is very attractive.
