Valve Aims to Ship Steam Machine in the First Half of 2026
PC gaming fans are still waiting for more information about the new Steam Machine, but the situation is currently complicated. A major issue in the hardware market, which the community has nicknamed “RAMageddon,” has forced Valve to officially delay the launch of the device. Even so, the company is still hoping to resolve the situation soon.
On the evening of March 6, Valve published a report summarizing its activities during 2025. The first section of the report mainly focuses on the hardware the company introduced during the year, but the most important part concerns the possible launch window for the new Steam Machine.
Steam Machine Launch Plans Remain Unclear
According to Valve’s update, there are still no final plans for the Steam Machine. This matches the information shared back in February, when the company also said the situation was still uncertain.
However, Valve still intends to release the hardware in the coming months, possibly before the end of June. The company appears to be working toward that goal even though several challenges remain.
Despite the current difficulties, Valve hopes to begin shipping the Steam Machine during the first half of 2026. It is still unclear whether the company will be able to follow this internal roadmap.
More details about the device are expected to be shared through the Steam Community in the future. Until then, players will have to wait for further updates about the upcoming hardware and its final release plans.
In other news, Steam Machine is expected to be around six times more powerful than the Steam Deck.
