Valve Fills Warehouses With “Consoles” And Hints At Steam Machine Launch In 2026
Valve has officially presented its new Steam Controller, which will arrive in stores on May 4. However, this may not be the only hardware the company is preparing.
According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Brand Lynch, Valve has been sending a large number of “game consoles” to warehouses in the United States. These are believed to be the new Steam Machine, suggesting that the company is preparing for its release.

Shipping documents clearly describe the product as a “game console”. While it could be confused with the Steam Deck, it would not make much sense to store such large quantities unless a big launch or sales period is coming soon.
This move is similar to what Valve did with the Steam Controller, sending units to warehouses before release. It also comes at a time when there is a shortage of DRAM memory and storage, so Valve may be trying to secure enough stock before launch.
Valve has already said that its new hardware will be released in the first half of 2026. With time passing, it seems likely that the company is building up stock before making an official announcement.
All signs suggest that the announcement of the new Steam Machine could happen soon.
