Hello Patriot Viper V730 and welcome to my desk! I already love the look of the keyboard, but since my work area is already pretty focused on black and red, it fits in like it was already here for years. I love RGB, but I rarely use it, I set it to red or purple, leave it there, and rarely or never return to change it; my Roccat mouse is a prime example of that.
The red LED lighting looks superb, and the transition and reaction effects are pretty cool too. Again, just because it’s not RGB, doesn’t mean it has to lack some of the more advanced features of its big brothers.
While I wouldn’t use this kind of effect for work and gaming, it’s still good fun. Furthermore, the lights are nice and bright, although you can, of course, turn them down or turn them off completely also.
For gaming in a darker room, they work really well, and the aluminium chassis catches the light nicely too.
Overall, I can’t fault what’s on offer here. The Brown switches have that lovely tactile bump you would expect and feel easily comparable to other brand switches on the market. For work and gaming, it’s an excellent choice and great value too.
