When you get asked, do you take your computer everywhere with you, people tend to refer to your laptop, tablet or maybe even a mobile phone. MSI decided that this wasn’t enough, they actually wanted this phrase to apply to your physical computer, the desktop unit that sits atop/underneath your desk and hums away as you play games in the early hours of the day. So where could you put a portable computer? The answer would appear to be inside a backpack.
The backpack is designed for a particular reason, virtual reality. The idea is that if you want to play virtual reality games, you’ll need a computer powerful enough to run them while on the move. Similar to the Void’s technique of giving players VR experiences without cables tethering them to their chairs, the backpack PC could give users a whole new form of freedom when playing games like Pokemon GO.
With no official specs other than the Intel i7 processor and GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, we will have to wait till next week’s Computex announcement to reveal all the secrets behind the backpack. MSI isn’t the only group announcing a backpack PC, with Zotac also looking to show off their Backpack PC.
