Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Has Not Been Abandoned, Says Saber Interactive

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Has Not Been Abandoned, Says Saber Interactive

Saber Interactive has shared a new update to make it clear that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has not been abandoned. Despite the recent announcement of a new game in the series, the studio says they are still fully committed to supporting Space Marine 2 with more content after launch.

The huge success of Space Marine 2 pushed the development team to start planning for a third installment, but this announcement made some fans worry that the studio might leave behind their earlier plans for updates and expansions.

Saber Interactive addressed these concerns, saying:

“We announced that Space Marine 3 had begun development and we’re excited to see your enthusiasm, although we hear those of you who fear for Space Marine 2 and its future support. So let us set the record straight: Space Marine 3 does not mean the end of Space Marine 2’s development.”

The team also confirmed that no developers are moving on to the new project, and that all previously promised content is still on the way.

Roadmap Remains the Same

Space Marine 2

Just a few months after announcing that over five million people have played the game, Saber has confirmed that the Year One roadmap will remain unchanged. A new update, Patch 7, is expected to arrive around mid-April, and it will introduce a brand-new playable class.

Though the team hasn’t yet revealed what this new class will be, many fans believe it could either be the Apothecary, who acts as a healer for the Space Marines, or the Librarian, who uses powerful psychic attacks.

New Melee Weapon on the Way

In addition to the new class, a new melee weapon is also coming soon. Players are hoping for an axe, inspired by one seen in an episode of the Secret Level animated series based on Warhammer 40,000. That axe has already appeared in several fan-made mods and is a popular request.

Saber Interactive’s update shows that the team is still fully behind Space Marine 2, and fans can expect exciting additions in the months ahead.
