Warner Bros. Games to Prioritize Core Franchises to Boost Success Ratio

Warner Bros Games has a huge list of titles, but in the coming period, they will be focusing specifically on a select group of these beloved titles.

CEO Acknowledges Underwhelming Performance

Warner Bros CEO admitted in a new investor session that their gaming performance has been below par in recent times and not in line with their capabilities. He described the recent period as one of the worst in the company’s history within the gaming industry.

This is an expected statement after Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League became a disappointment and one of the failed experiments that cost the company more than $300 million in 2024 alone, failing to achieve real profits.

But the director aspires to change the company’s course for the much better with four main games that the company will focus on in the coming period, which have proven to have a large base of players who love them. These titles are Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and Batman.

He explains that they will back away from the strategy of launching 10 or 20 different games, focusing instead on allocating their resources to support these other titles, each of which is considered a large series and can be supported by several new parts. This appears to align with the director’s actual ambition.

This means that we may finally get a new Batman game from the company after a long absence. The development of the second part of Hogwarts Legacy has already been officially announced. It is also expected that a new part of Mortal Kombat will be announced sooner or later. However, the only mystery remains around Game of Thrones: will the company succeed in developing a beloved and successful game adapted from the famous TV series? Only time will tell.
