Wi-Fi donkeys anyone?

Well its hardly cutting edge technology, but its certainly a very funny story. A tourist park attraction over in Israel aims to teleport you “back to biblical times” and show you how people of the old testament lived. Yet for some reason they thought a great way to do this would be by offering you Wi-Fi on your donkey.

The Wi-Fi hotspot device is hung around the donkey’s neck like a feedbag. It allows tourists to surf the internet, update their Twitter, upload Facebook photos or answer some historical questions using Wikipedia.

“You take some pictures, you want to change your picture on Facebook – you can do it,” Goldberg, the park manager, said.

“It has been used as a working animal for 5000 years, There are more than 40 million donkeys in the world. That’s a lot of donkeys!” said New York Tourist Peter Scherr after using Wikipedia on his iPad.

“I don’t miss any news,” Scherr said. “I send pictures back to my family while I’m having fun on the donkeys.”

Whether you think its a good idea or not, one thing is true. The Wi-Fi donkeys have been a raging success so far, and in the world of tourism that’s enough to justify it.
