Wild West Online adds mounted combat to the alpha with new gameplay footage
Wild West Online has had a somewhat mildly confused life so far. When it first emerged it was initially confused as possibly being something to do with Rockstar games.
Rockstar games are the developer of Red Dead Redemption and for a time, its screenshots for the upcoming DRD 2 were very much getting confused with Wild West Online.
Well, I can assure you that while looking similar, they are two very different games.
Launching on alpha, Wild West Online has been doing well in carving itself a small niche in the wait for DRD 2. One of the most requested additions to the alpha so far has been the option for horseback combat.
Well, if you were one of those people, your prayers have been answered as a new patch has just introduced the mechanic along with a short gameplay trailer.
Where can I play the alpha?
The developers of Wild West Online has been rather guarded with their alpha. In a method that is very much against the norm, the game isn’t currently available on Steam.
The alpha can only be purchased directly from their website.
They have said that a Steam version will be released, but only when the game is completed.
For those of you unaware of the game, it is set to feature a large open-world with a variety of PVE and PVP mechanics. Attempting to replicate the wild west, the game hopes to build a large online community exploring the virtual frontier.
Therefore, as we see delays to DRD 2, this might be a great little game to play in the meantime if you want your Western gaming experience.
