Windows 11 Is Still Slower Than Windows 10
A comparison shows that despite all the improvements Microsoft has made to Windows 11, it is still slower than Windows 10 in very basic tasks such as opening File Explorer or right-clicking on the desktop.
Performance Tests Reveal Windows 11’s Lag
Windows 11 was updated with preload technologies for File Explorer and received several updates aimed at improving performance. However, these updates have not achieved the expected results. Multiple benchmark tests comparing Windows 11 and Windows 10 performing the same actions confirm this.
When opening File Explorer on both systems, slow-motion footage clearly shows that Windows 11 is slower than Windows 10. The same happens when right-clicking to open the context menu — it’s noticeably slower in Microsoft’s newer operating system.
The fact that Windows 11 performs slower in such basic tasks affects the overall user experience. The system feels less smooth, heavier, and less efficient compared to Windows 10.
Microsoft has not yet managed to make Windows 11 truly appealing. Many people upgraded almost out of necessity rather than desire. Even with the end of support for Windows 10 — unless users opt for the free extended year — many still prefer to stay on Windows 10 instead of updating to Windows 11.
