Wired2Fire Diablo Elite GTX 1080 Gaming PC Review

Gaming Performance

Grand Theft Auto 5

In Grand Theft Auto V, the system performs admirably and has enough horsepower to run the game perfectly fine on a 4K display. This is a substantial achievement and demonstrates the GTX 1080’s astounding capabilities. As you can see, the Wired2Fire Diablo Elite’s graphics card enjoys a small lead over other GTX 1080 solutions although it’s not as pronounced as other titles. Maybe, this is down to the game’s age and lack of performance patches over time.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Despite having to contend with Rise of the Tomb Raider’s stunning texture quality on the Very High preset, the system didn’t falter and maintained a fluid user experience up to 1440P. As you can see, the average frame-rate remains extremely smooth and there’s a decent improvement over competing options, especially when deploying a 2560×1440 display. Even though the frame-rate is solid during 4K benchmarking, there are some moments involving large frame dips which contributes to a fairly jarring experience. Thankfully, it’s easy enough to scale back the settings and make the frame drops less prevalent.

Hitman

Once again, the system excelled during 1440p testing and enjoyed a surprisingly large lead over other GTX 1080 powered machines. This advantage which reaches over 10 frames-per-second is puzzling but I’m fairly certain it’s a combination of Square Enix unleashing a performance patch and driver improvements. Whatever the case, the system’s graphics card performs impeccably and the framerate doesn’t dip under 60 when using a 1920×1080 or 2560×1440 panel. Sadly, the Ultra preset proves too demanding during 4K testing, but this is to be expected.

Far Cry Primal

During the Far Cry Primal benchmark, the Wired2Fire Diablo Elite performed brilliantly and the average frame-rate remained well above 60 until a 4K monitor was deployed. As you can see, there’s a minor improvement compared to rival systems sporting the GTX 1080 and it seems likely that the higher boost clock is making a key difference. The graphics card is more than capable of dealing with the game’s advanced lighting effects and other visual elements.
