Xbox April Update Brings New Dashboard Design to Series X|S
After recently updating Achievements on Xbox consoles, Microsoft has now released a new system update for Xbox Series X|S, introducing an updated dashboard with several visual and functional improvements.
One of the most important new features is the ability to enable or disable Quick Resume for each individual game. This option has been requested by many Xbox users for a long time, and it finally arrives with this update.

The April 2026 update also brings better customization options. Users can now adjust their profiles more easily, change custom colors for different dashboard elements, and manage the badges that other players can see.
In addition, the new dashboard includes several useful improvements. There is now a connection quality indicator, which works for both wired and Wi-Fi connections. The “My Games & Apps” section has a new tab that shows recently played games, making it easier to find and launch titles.
Microsoft has also added an indicator for save files, showing whether they are synced between the console, the cloud, and PC. Users can now create and add up to ten groups directly to the Home screen, making it easier to organize their content.
Finally, the update fixes many bugs reported by players and members of the Xbox Insider testing program, improving overall system stability.
In other news, Microsoft is engaged in big discussions “internally” regarding a potential return to a console-exclusive strategy for future Xbox titles.
