Xbox Game Pass Surpasses 35 Million Subscribers
According to recent information, Xbox Game Pass has now surpassed 35 million subscribers worldwide. This update comes from Microsoft’s program manager, Kevin K., who shared the new figures on his LinkedIn profile. The last official count was released in February 2024, when Microsoft announced reaching 34 million subscribers. It’s not clear whether the 35 million milestone was reached recently or a few months ago.
Slower Growth, But Still Expanding
In recent years, Microsoft has slowed down public updates on the growth of Xbox Game Pass, moving from regular announcements to sporadic reports often focused on specific categories like PC Game Pass or Game Pass Core. On June 1st, the service celebrated its eighth anniversary. While the growth of Xbox Game Pass has continued, analysts have noticed a slight slowdown, with only a 13% increase in 2023—a two-percentage-point drop from the previous year. However, the price per subscription has risen, and the fact that the subscriber count hasn’t dropped is seen as a positive sign.
A Bright Future with New Releases
During 2024/2025, Microsoft has released many successful titles on the service, including first-party exclusives like Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, Avowed, and Doom: The Dark Ages. There have also been significant third-party additions, including Persona 3 Reload and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. At the end of 2023, Microsoft revealed plans to reach 100 million subscribers by 2030, though such a sharp increase seems unlikely at the moment.
