For the month of November, Microsoft’s Xbox One has outsold the Sony PlayStation 4 for the first time, across the US and UK, figures from the NPD Group have revealed. The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console from January to October, but a combination of a Holiday season surge and a $50 price drop has helped the Xbox One usurp its rival.
Mike Nichols, Vice President of Marketing for Xbox, confirmed the news to Gamespot, saying, “November set a new record for sales of Xbox One, and Xbox One was the best-selling console in the US and UK.” Last month, Xbox sales were on the cusp of 10 million worldwide. Geekwire reports that total Xbox One units sold during November were 1.2 million.
