If your Xbox games are not working today, the problem is not with your console. Microsoft’s Xbox services are experiencing a worldwide outage, preventing users from launching many games, including digital titles and, in some cases, even games installed from discs. Players are also having trouble signing into their accounts and using the platform’s social features.
According to Microsoft’s official Xbox status page, the “Account & Profile,” “Store & Subscriptions,” “Gaming,” and “Apps & Mobile” services are all marked as experiencing a “Major outage.”

The issue affects Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and mobile devices. At the time of writing, the Xbox app for PC appears to be working normally.
Microsoft has also confirmed that it identified the problem and is now working on a fix, although the service has not yet been fully restored.
Xbox Support also confirmed the outage on X (formerly Twitter), but no new updates had been posted for several hours after the initial post. The exact cause of the outage remains unknown. As more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to keep you updated here at eTeknix.
In other news, Microsoft is testing a new Download Client that automatically checks available content server pools, tests connection speeds, and dynamically switches to the fastest server during game installs and updates.
