XIGMATEK Announces Tyr SD1264B CPU Cooler

Xigmatek announced their latest CPU cooler and the Tyr SD1246B, as it is called, is a tower-style CPU cooler which probably is the most utilized CPU cooler form beside AIO coolers.
The new Tyr features a common tower-type design that comes with narrower fins at the bottom of the stack for better clearance around the CPU socket and less interference. The fin stack is made from aluminium for a good heat dissipation while the four heat pipes are 6mm thick copper pipes that make direct contact with the CPU itself. That is a common combination and setup and one that should work great.
The heatsink comes with a 120mm Xigmatek fan that uses a 4-pin PWM connector to get its power from the motherboard. It can spin between 600 RPM and 2000 RPM, but the CPU cooler also comes with a speed adapter that lowers the speed even more through a built-in resistor, letting it spin at half that speed for reduced noise levels. Without the adapter, the Tyr SD1246B can push up to 59 CFM of air with a noise output range between 28 and 38 dBA – so it isn’t the most silent solution, but not too bad either. The fan is also equipped with red LEDs for a more distinct setup.
Xigmatek’s new Tyr CPU cooler is compatible with all the current CPU sockets such as the LGA 115x, AM3+, and FM2+. Xigmatek didn’t reveal any pricing or availability yet, but I’m sure these pieces of information will show up soon too.
