XPG Valor Mesh Compact Mid-Tower Case Review

A Closer Look – Exterior

The Valor is fairly compact, although given so many of the newer cases I’ve been reviewing have been massive, it does feel smaller than usual as a result of that. However, it’s clear there are still some brands out there trying to keep things a little more understated, and I like that, as I have limited office space for my PC case, so something more compact like this certainly has its appeal. It still ticks the right boxes for a gaming case though, and there’s a large tempered glass window down the left side, which stops at the edge of the PSU shroud.

The front is heavily meshed, with a high-airflow design that has a bank of 3 x 120mm fans sitting behind it. So, right out of the box, it’s going to be able to deliver a wall of air to your hardware, which is always a good thing. Plus, the mesh looks nice too, and aesthetics are just as important for many PC builders.

The right side is a solid metal panel, neat and tidy, but nothing complicated beyond that.

Around the back, it’s a pretty standard ATX layout, and there are seven expansion slots. They’re all fitted with reusable ventilated metal covers too, so a big thumbs up there!

There’s a 120mm rear fan mount, and much like the front, it’s already populated with a fan, giving you three in and one out, so again, cooling shouldn’t be a problem.

There’s also a ventilated top panel, with a magnetic dust filter to stop things falling into the case.

Under the filter, you’ll find room for both 120mm and 140mm fans here, or even up to a 240mm slim radiator such as an AIO cooler.

On the underside, there are four round feet, providing a good amount of ground clearance, and there’s another dust filter allowing for clean air to the power supply.
