Yennefer’s Voice Actress Unsure About Her Involvement in The Witcher 4

The production of The Witcher 4 began last year with over 400 employees from CD Projekt RED working on the new chapter of the series, which is being created using Unreal Engine 5. However, there is still very little known about the game, including which characters from the previous games or books will appear.

Eurogamer recently asked Denise Gough, the voice actress of Yennefer of Vengerberg, if the beloved mage would be returning in The Witcher 4. However, it seems that even Gough is uncertain about her involvement in the game. She might not be able to discuss it openly, but she couldn’t confirm anything for sure.

In the interview, Gough revealed, “I don’t know any of this,” when asked about the progress of The Witcher 4. Gough, who now plays Dedra Meero in Star Wars: Andor, also shared her experience recording for The Witcher 3 several years ago. She admitted that she had no idea what she was doing at the time.

“I’d never done a video game before. And then lots of, usually men, would come up to me in sound departments on film sets, would come up and go [whispers] ‘are you Yennefer?’ And I was like ‘who’s Yennefer?'”

As mentioned earlier, there are many details about The Witcher 4 that we still don’t know. One key piece of information missing is the release date. However, CD Projekt RED has suggested that the game will not hit the shelves before 2027.
