A Closer Look

This is one of the less extreme cards for the RTX 3070 launch, giving us a much more compact design. Make no mistake though, it’s actually still a big graphics card, as I think it’s pretty wide, but compared to some of the gigantic models for the 3000 series, it’s not so bad.

It features two huge fans with their new and improved 11-blade design. They claim they’ll move around 10% more air than their previous models. The card has a FREEZE Fan mode, allowing for completely silent performance. However, both fans are independent and can be customised via software too.

The IceStorm 2 cooler is really nice too, and I like that they’ve got a monochrome and toned down aesthetic. It doesn’t even have any RGB, but it still has a few funky angles that give it a “gamer” vibe.

Down the side, you’ll find the Zotac and RTX logos, as well as a tiny bit of white LED lighting. Again, it’s subtle, but it works.

The power connectors are heavily recessed into the side of the card. However, they’re actually not. The IceStorm 2 cooler is just so darn wide, it over runs the PCB by quite a distance. As you can see though, the card requires just two connectors, while some of the larger RTX 3070 cards use three.

The back plate looks great though, offering both protecting and cooling to the PCB. There’s also some ventilation cut into it, and a lot of extra vents cut into the end of it too.

Finally, we have the end of the card, which features three DisplayPort connectors, and a single HDMI, so hooking up multiple displays should not be an issue.
