VR Go Backpack

VR Backpacks are gradually becoming more convenient thanks to advancements in technology which make them comfortable to use while offering longer battery life. Of course, the concept is still in its infancy and designed for a niche market. Recently, Zotac announced the VR Go Backpack sporting an Intel Core i7 6700T processor which has a 2.8GHz base and 3.6GHz turbo as well as a GTX 1070. Not only that, the device opts for 16GB of DDR4 memory running at 2133MHz and allows users to expand this figure to 64GB. On another note, the product comes with a 240 M.2 SATA SSD and has the option to install another 2.5-inch SATA drive. Interestingly, the components are passively cooled with an impressive heatsink arrangement and the fans blow air onto your back to aid comfort.

The Zotac VR Go Backpack has six USB 3.0 ports, dual Gigabit LAN, WiFi 802.11ac/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2. Additionally, the internal GPU can output to four displays and you can choose between three HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.3. According to Zotac, the backpack can function for up to four hours due to the dual Li-on batteries with a 6600mAh rating. These batteries are hot-swappable which could be useful if you purchase some spares. The entire unit weighs a respectable 4KG and has a recommended retail price of $2000.
