ZOWIE GEAR Hammer Gaming Headset Review

As with any headset, performance is the final word and the Zowie Hammer headset performs exactly as Zowie say they will, giving you crystal clear audio that is perfect for the competitive and online gamer.  A lot of companies make bold claims about their products, something that really wasn’t the case with here.  Zowie have kept everything about this headset as uncomplicated as possible, from its simple build quality that has resulted in superb durability, meaning you can throw these in the bottom of your bag, drop them on the floor or even if you wish to do so, bend the heck out of them without much worry and likely without breaking them, so they should survive many a long gaming session regardless of whether you’re a touring pro gamer or just someone who likes long stints at their desk.

I also liked the fact that they have included two types or ear piece, while they say one type is better for music and the other gaming, it’s really a matter of preference.  I liked the fabric ones a little more but they were both just as comfortable and good to use as each other, either way it adds to the overall value for money of the product.

Zowie know their market very well, the people behind the company and behind the design, testing and the use of their product are or have been competitive pro-gamers, who know exactly what it is they want and how it should be done, something that shines through once you begin to use their products, be that their headsets, mice or gaming surfaces.  When I spoke to the people at Zowie about this headset they told me not to judge it on its looks and style as they have gone for performance, ergonomics and durability, but in doing so they have created a headset that  looks and feels different from everything else on the market, personally I really like the look and feel of it.

Overall then this simple headset from Zowie does exactly what it says on the tin, proving you with a perfect solution for competitive and online gaming at a more than reasonable price point for this kind of audio and build quality, especially with so many headset already on the market making it hard for any one product to stand out in the crowd.  They have set out with a clear goal in mind to create a solid and reliable gaming headset, avoid the temptation of going overboard with design and extra features that in the case of most headsets in that are on the market in this price range only tend to cause complications or effect performance, which is why I will be giving the Zowie Hammer our gamers choice award.

You can pick up the Zowie Hammer from their web store for €59.90 EUR.
