Overclocking

The CCC limit of 1200MHz core and 1600MHz memory of the HD 7790 is removed for the R7 260X. Instead we have new CCC limits that allow us to get as high as 1245MHz on the core (which was the highest stable clock and did not hit a limit) while we managed 1800MHz on the memory, that’s 7.2GHz effective, which was actually as high as we could go due to limitations.

This gave a very nice boost in performance of about 12% over the stock score of P6264. That combined with the 2GB of GDDR5 meant that the Radeon R7 260X overclocks well beyond the performance of a stock HD 7850 or Nvidia GTX 660 which is one heck of an achievement. Of course those graphics cards can be overclocked too but the overclocking certainly makes the R7 260X one impressive card for the price.
