The HX-series comes in 650W, 750W, 850W and 1050W flavours, in this review I shall be looking at the 1050W unit. Looking at the specifications we can immediately see the quality that this unit offers- unlike most units the HX1050 can provide it’s full 1050W through the 12V rail. Also notice that unlike it’s predecessor, the HX1050 delivers it’s 12V power though a single rail which has it’s good and bad points. Normally, I would praise it for making it easier for the end user to connect devices up without having to worry about balancing the rails. However, 87.5A through a single rail? Corsair had better have made this unit out of some solid stuff because we will be testing to see if this unit can handle such an intense load though a single rail and how it responds to short testing.
