Netgear introduced Arlo Pro Wire-Free HD Security Camera Systems (VMS4X30) which easily are the world’s most advanced and versatile smart home security cameras. The Arlo Pro takes up minimal space and doesn’t require any power outlet to be near or PoE wires to be laid out thanks to the compact, stylish, and wire-free design. The 2440mA lithium ion batteries can be quickly charged directly at the camera or they can be ejected and charged through the optional dual-bay Arlo Pro Charging Station.

Enough about features, let’s talk numbers and specifications. The Arlo Pro has a video resolution up to 1280×720 which makes it a normal HD resolution and the full-color CMOS sensor will record in H.264 format. Since it has a two-way communication feature, it naturally has both a speaker and a microphone. The motion detection features adjustable sensitivity and automatic email and push notification alerts. It has 850nm IR LEDs for up to 25 feet night vision. The focus is fixed from 2 feet to infinity.

The base station features ethernet connection and LED indicators for power, internet, and camera. It has internal antennas for the wifi camera connects have a 300 feet line of sight range and operate on the 2.4GHz 802.11n band. You can store recordings on local USB storage and it comes with included free 7-day cloud storage too.

The Arlo Pro starts at $249.99 that includes one camera and the base station and it goes up to $649.99 for a base station with four cameras. There are also 2-packs for $419.99 and 3-packs for $579.99. Additional cameras each cost $189.99, a set of 3 black skins for your cameras costs $24.99, and an extra battery pack with charger will set you back $49.99.
