Scythe presents another special edition of their CPU cooler
Andy Ruffell / 6 years ago
Scythe, the Japanese cooling expert, has repeated its scenario, without complain from out part, of the PC Games Hardware Edition of the Mugen 3 CPU Cooler.
Already seen with the Mugen 2, these editions are designed in conjunction with the German PC magazine to create a CPU cooler to the specifications of the Power Users.
This time, they were aiming for silence without modifying the high-performance. No modifications were brought to the heatsink, just the airflow. While the original version featured one Scythe Slip Stream PWM Silent 120mm axial fan, the PC Games Hardware Edition is fitted with two Slip Stream 120mm fans in a push/pull configuration and constantly rotating at 800 rpm which results in a noise level of only 10.70dBA. All of this without compromising the cooler’s performance.
Scythe’s new edition is guaranteed to be hold securely in place with the 4th version of the Flip Mount Super Back-Plate mounting mechanism (or F.M.S.B. in short). The compatibility is more or less the same with Intel being LGA1155, LGA1156, T/LGA775 and LGA1366 while AMDs’ are AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ as well as the new FM1 (notice that Intel’s new LGA2011 isn’t…).
The Scythe Mugen 3 PC Games Hardware Edition CPU Cooler is now available for €37.90 excluding VAT.
