Upgrading to an 802.11ac dual-band router does not cost much thanks to the Tenda AC6 which has a retail price of only $34.99 USD. Shenzhen based Tenda usually offers affordable networking solutions but the Tenda AC6 is even more affordable than their usual fare while providing an excellent upgrade platform for home users still stuck on aging 802.11g or 802.11n home networks.
Even on a larger home, the fifth generation 802.11ac standard includes advanced beamforming technology so the Tenda AC6 can tailor the signal to each individual connection according to the end device’s spatial location. Equipped with four amplified high-gain antennas, reception penetration is not an issue even on a multi-story complex. Deadzones are not an issue even without the use of repeaters unlike other home routing solutions.
Inside the Tenda AC6 is a high-end ARM MCU used in other costlier high-end routers. The router is capable of 1167 Mbps through put, concurrently broadcasting both 300Mbps on the 2.4Ghz band and 867Mbps on the 5Ghz band.
