1992 Classic “Flashback” Sequel Gets Official Story Trailer

I love Flashback, it’s one of the most engaging side-scrolling adventure games I’ve ever played, having owned it on the Sega Mega Drive when I was a kid, and having gone back to it every few years over the last three decades to a quick replay. Now, it looks like the sequel is shaping up nicely, following the success of the HD remaster that came out in recent years. Furthermore, I think we’re all still ignoring the official sequel Fade to Black 3D adventure game from 1995 because it was largely terrible.
Microids has released the official story trailer for Flashback 2, and having watched it, it looks pretty awesome. Set in the typical dystopian future we’ve come to expect from the franchise, Conrad B. Hart, must confront the fearsome Morphs who aim to enslave all life in the solar system.
There are plenty of puzzles, as well as fast-paced side-scrolling gunplay. With new environments done in 3D, but still playing as a side scroller, you’ll visit the likes of New Tokyo, New Washington, and the Jungle (I’m guessing New Jungle wasn’t ready yet).

Story Trailer

Release Date
Microids will release Flashback 2 on the 5th of December. It’s available for pre-purchase on Steam for £33.50 with a discount currently putting it at £30.15.
