Airbnb Goes Crazy – Sues Its Self

Airbnb is suing a city for something it agreed to do, woops

In this day and age, if you ever do anything you can expect someone has a problem with it. This is even more true with companies that are quickly taking off and facing the world thanks to apps and internet access coming in everything from your computer to a mobile phone showing deals and discounts for services all around the place. Airbnb is just one of these companies, facing great success in a short space of time and now it would appear that its started to go a little crazy with power.

Founded in 2008, Airbnb is a simple process where you book a room that’s provided by someone local to the area. Ever wanted that holiday feel but the hotel’s all seemed to be identical from one place to another? Airbnb offers you all of that but with none of the hassle, giving you unique feel to your holiday without a big brand selling you the same feelings.

The latest lawsuit comes as Airbnb faces off against the city of San Francisco who now require that the company registers the hosts it has within the city. The more interesting part of this is that Airbnb actually agreed to cap the short-term rents it had available in the city along with registering any hosts within the city. In short, it would appear that the company is suing the city for something it agreed to do, in essence, it’s suing itself.
