As a student I know full well that textbooks are indispensable and the extraordinary costs that these can cost to purchase new. For instance, one of the Quantum Physics books I will need to use next year costs over $100 on Amazon to buy new. That said, most of us don’t really know what to do with them once we are done with them as they tend to have a very limited life-span both in terms of content and your use for them.
Amazon has once again made a step forward to make it easier, and slightly cheaper, by including lots of its textbooks in digital forms. This then leads to Amazon being able to rent these textbooks out for those of us who may who need to use them for a semester. Amazon have said rental can be for a month, or even up to a year. Furthermore, you get to keep your annotations and notes even after your rental has expired.
Of course, as with all things Amazon currently, it is designed for the Kindle only.
