AMD Radeon 7000 Graphics Cards Rumoured for Late October to Mid-November Launch

With both AMD and Nvidia set to launch their new graphics cards towards the latter part of this year, we are still yet to get any kind of firm dates from either company. – Following fresh reports from earlier this week, however, it seems more than likely that it will be Nvidia who’ll get the next-gen GPU ball rolling with its launch of the RTX 4090 now anticipated for September (or early October depending on your source).

Well, that’s presuming you’re choosing to ignore Intel whose Arc Alchemist desktop GPUs are anticipated to arrive (on Western shores) at some point within the next 2 months… Maybe.

What about AMD though? Well, following a Twitter post from reliable leak source ‘@greymon55‘ it seems that the Radeon 7000 will be set to officially debut in late October or early to mid-November.

AMD Radeon RX 7000 Graphics Cards

Now getting one elephant out of the room fairly quickly, yes, this is a date that could’ve been cited from practically any semi-knowledgable source. We all know roughly when both AMD’s and Nvidia’s new graphics cards should be arriving. – In something that does add some credence to this leak, however, the mid-October launch is notably later than many might have anticipated. And especially so if this is actually more in line with their early to mid-November information.

Similar to Nvidia, however, AMD is also expected to perform a somewhat staggered role out with their new flagship 7900 XT probably being the first out the door with lower-tier models following over the coming months.

Don’t Confuse Launch With Release!

Finally, we feel it worth pointing out that the leak source here has very specifically cited a ‘launch’ date rather than ‘release’. In other words, if the 7900 XT graphics card is debuted in mid-November, it will likely not be commercially available (as in available to buy) until a few days after or possibly even towards the back-end of the month.

All in all, this news does seem to suggest that with Intel and Nvidia also having graphics cards on the horizon, AMD may be the last to get theirs onto the market. And no, that’s not necessarily a bad thing either. Particularly so if Intel Arc is underwhelming (as reports seem to indicate) or Nvidia again suffers from low stock and high prices (which, let’s be honest, does seem likely).

What do you think though? Which team are you currently rooting for with their next-gen graphics cards? – Let us know in the comments!
