AMD introduce new CPUs by the end of the year

AMD are planning to replace their high end line of CPUs including Phenom II X6 and Phenom II X4 processors in Q4 of this year.

We have recently seen the release of the Phenom II X4 970 and the Phenom II X6 1075T this quarter replacing the fastest quad core solution (Phenom II X4 965) and also the introduction of the slightly underclocked 1075T X6 solution against the fastest X6, the 1090T.

In Q4 2010, AMD will release two new six-core processors. The Phenom II X6 1100T operating at 3.30GHz, making it the fastest chip the company has to offer and the Phenom II X6 1065T clocked at 2.90GHz with a 95W thermal design power. Note that 95watt thermal design, in this case the 1055T 95W prooved to be the best overclocker among the X6 family.

From the table below we can see that the new 1100T has a 3.3GHz core frequency and 3.7GHz Turbo Core frequency, both 100MHz higher than the 1090T, placing it at the top of the list as the fastest X6 solution from AMD. A slightly higher core in this way will make the CPU perform slightly faster.

The processor has the same features as its predecessor, the 1090T. Unlocked multiplier (which makes overclocking easy by raising the multiplier), 9MB L3 cache, 125W thermal power design and turbo mode.

The Phenom II X6 1090T has seen price cuts recently, with pricing now at £145($230). This was due to the upcoming 1100T.

We at eTeknix discovered that the Phenom II X6 1100T recently appeared in price lists of a few online stores for pre-order priced at $300(£190) here.

Furthermore, besides the Phenom II X6 1100T AMD will also release the new Phenom II X6 1065T clocked at 2.9GHz with a turbo mode of 3.4GHz, making it an affordable solution for most budget systems.

In addition, AMD will introduce their most powerful quad-core Phenom II X4 975 CPU in the Deneb family with a 3.60GHz clock-speed, 8MB of L3 cache and 125w thermal design solution.

AMD is trying their best to offer all possible solutions to the mainstream market and at an affordable price for all of us who need a new CPU for the new year.
