We feel that it’s important to open up with the caveat that despite all the rumours, AMD has still not officially confirmed the existence of a 590 graphics card. Despite that though, there is more than enough evidence now to suggest that this is real. For example, we recently saw AMD RX 590 benchmarks hit the Final Fantasy XV website. In addition, we have also seen leaked images of PowerColor’s model.
Yes, we think it’s pretty safe to say that the 590 is real!
In a report via WCCFTech though, it would appear that the release is very much on the horizon. In the report, rumours are suggesting that the 590 cards will be releasing on November 15th.
Well, we know that the card will likely be based on a 12nm Polaris 30 GPU core. As such, we can expect better temperatures and core clock speeds. In terms of outright performance though, given that this is still using the Polaris architecture, we shouldn’t expect this to be much better than a specifically overclocked 580. Given that the benchmark figures (mentioned above) show about a 10-15% gain on the 580, this does all seem to tally up.
Although exact prices have not been announced yet (as above, this doesn’t officially exist at the moment) the report indicates that it will retail for a price in the region of $300. If this card can come under the $300 bracket, it has a chance to be very successful. With the high cost of Nvidia’s 20XX range, people might be looking for a less expensive alternative. With that in mind, AMD might be doing what they do best!
