FSR is AMD’s answer to DLSS which offers frame generation for more users as opposed to NVIDIA’s locked down 40 series exclusive DLSS 3 frame generation. Recently an update was rolled out for Call of Duty Modern Warfare III introducing FSR 3 technology to the game.
FSR3 has been introduced into Modern Warfare III and replaces the FSR 2.1 option within the games settings alongside a toggle for frame generation. This addition makes it the 6th title to receive FSR support on top of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Forspoken, Immortals of Aveum, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and MotorCubs RC. The good thing about FSR 3 frame generation is that users on RX 5000 series and RTX 2000 series can benefit from it based on AMD’s requirements.
The downside of FSR 3 is that it has to be implemented by games developers and with only 6 titles supporting it, there aren’t many users who can benefit from it on a large scale just yet. Fortunately though, AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames technology is said to deploy on January 24th as a part of HYPR-RX which won’t require developer integration. The downside of this is that only AMD users can take advantage of this.
