Another IM hits the market, but this time for Facebook

If like me, you are surrounded by social media and keeping in constant contact with people, then instant messaging is generally the easiest way forward, but it does have its hiccups to say the least. The first is that not everyone uses the same software; some of my contacts stand by Skype as a way and means, whilst others religiously use MSN and a very select few go for other commercial products on the market.

To make things even more confusing, Facebook are trying their hand at making an instant messaging application, but with a twist as it’s specially made for the mobile platform.

It also works very much in the same way as the new chat system that Facebook implemented a little while ago, so that all of your chats are left as messages for later perusal.

You can also do such functions as group chats if needing to speak to multiple people at once, making it a very simple and easy to communicate system.

Also whether you be in group chat or one-to-one, you will be able to share map locations and much more, at a click of a few buttons.

Though Facebook quoted that it will be available in your phone’s app store today, there is still no sign of it yet, but we do recommend keeping an eye on their official landing page, which still say “coming soon” at the time of writing this article.

Exciting stuff indeed, but we certainly believe that speeding up and fixing any current bugs in the main Facebook app should have been a priority.
