Antec Eleven Hundred Mid Tower Chassis Review

When unpacking the Antec Eleven Hundred case we were impressed by its sleek design. With a low profile, the Eleven Hundred follows an angular design with crisp edges and clean lines. The case is finished in a high quality matt black with small design touches that enhance the look of the tower.

The Antec logo is highly visible on the lower portion of the front grill and draws you eye to the base of the tower. From here the sleek vents pull you up the face to the port bay where the dynamic front disbands to the top of the tower.  The front grill is framed by two large vents, giving the tower a dominating presence which is surprising for a smaller size case.  In addition to this the high quality finish on the passive air circulation vents gives the tower a feeling of quality and precision engineering.

Looking at the side doors of the case you can see the sleek lines and angular design has been continued down the case. The side, rear access door does not have many unique attributes to mention. With a fan vent manufactured into the door it is possible to mount a single fan to the rear of the CPU.

However looking at the access door on the other side you can see a Perspex panel has been installed with further fan mounting positions. This panel allows you to see all of your hardware in action and gives a clear view of the components you are using.

The top of the case is extremely clean with the 200mm top fan dominating the rear of the chassis.

In addition to this you can find a pair of slim line buttons that hug the profile of the case positioned behind the front ports for easy access. These buttons offer the standard start up and restart functionality found on most cases and fit in with the aesthetics of the rest of the case.

The aforementioned port bays located at the top of the front face allows quick connectivity to the user. With many motherboards still fitting USB2.0 headers to their boards, the Antec Eleven Hundred offers more flexibility to your build. With two USB2.0 and two USB3.0 ports available, Antec have tried to offer a compromise between speed and compatibility.

The port bay has been well thought out with adequate spacing between the ports, allowing users to accommodate larger USB devices such as wide profile flash drives. To the side of the USB ports are the two 3.5mm audio jacks for microphone and headphone connectivity. Again these have been well thought through to allow easy access when plugging and unplugging from the ports.

Looking at the rear of the case, Antec have not disappointed with the layout of the Eleven Hundred.  The design is both simple and functional with well thought out placement of component cut-outs. There are two water cooling holes fitted with rubber grommets located beside the expansion bays and just below the rear exhaust fan. Above the fan we also find the fan controls which allow the user to turn the fan LEDs on and off and also adjust the running speed of the fans. With the conventional PSU layout and 9 expansion slots the Eleven Hundred offers flexibility usually found in most larger towers, all wrapped in a mid-sized chassis.

The Eleven Hundred comes with low profile rubber feet that raise the tower off of the ground and provide vibration absorption and noise reduction. Passive ventilation technology is also used in the base of the Eleven Hundred under the PSU housing to maximise airflow around the PSU for optimum performance
