Despite the Antec HCG Extreme X850 being rated to 850 watts of power, it is certainly not uncommon to see a power supply achieve beyond that. With this in mind, the X850 performs more than a little impressively. The power supply managed to find another 178 watts before the protections kicked in. Additionally, if it wasn’t already clear, the protections did work entirely as required.
If you do, therefore, need 850w, but want a more than comfortable safety margin this is certainly a more than viable option. For regular PCs (gaming or otherwise), this will handle anything you throw at it without a single hiccup.
