Antec ISK110 VESA M-ITX Chassis Review

Overall there isn’t much in terms of features on the ISK, but what few it does have make a big impact on it’s overall performance. Having a built in low power PSU really goes a long way to reducing its overall footprint, but also provides you with a cost effective all in one solution that is perfect for a HTPC, commercial display device, low impact office computer or even a cheeky little home server.

Because there are so many robust M-ITX boards on the market, there is no reason why you can’t still have an outstanding system within this chassis and that really makes it’s applications almost limitless. As with today’s build we fitted 8GB of high performance ram, an i5 2500k CPU and a 480GB SSD, which makes this tiny box powerful enough for many day to day tasks.

While I think this chassis is mostly targeted at the business market, due to its compact size and low maintenance, both of which make it ideal for office use. I think there is a great market here for HTPC builds, especially thanks to the discreet mounting options available. I personally really like the idea of being able to mount this on the back of my screen.

The only thing that may put people off a purchase of this chassis is its price. Clocking in at around £70 it’s not cheap and falls in line with a lot of larger premium chassis in terms of size. Although it does still work out great value for money when you consider it’s size is smaller than a M-ITX chassis that would require a separate power supply, but also cheaper in most cases than buying a chassis and PSU separately.

So good things really do come in a small package here, the ISK does exactly what it says on the box and offers a cost effective, space saving solution to chassis design. It has plenty of real world applications and its not too shabby in terms of style and design, which is why I am more than happy to award it with our eTeknix Innovation Award.
