How Much Does it Cost?

I can’t really believe the price of this mouse, I really, REALLY, can’t. AOC has it listed at just £18.68 on Amazon, which is frankly a freaking steal. However, it’s actually got £4.99 off right now bringing it down to just £13.69… What is going on here? You can’t get anything even close to this for that kind of money. I don’t need one, and I’m still tempted to buy one.

Overview

AOC is one of the most respected gaming brands out there, with virtually countless awards for their high-end gaming monitors. They’re a prime choice for gamers at home to eSports champions, so it certainly makes sense that they’ve started to expand into gaming peripherals. With a new headset, keyboard, mouse and mouse mat to their name, you’re entire desktop can be AOC branding, and that’s cool. They’ve nailed the designs too, and everything should match up great with your AGON monitor.

That being said, while their new peripherals are decent, they are very much on the affordable side of things. AGON monitors tend to be more premium, and I’m curious to see if AOC will release a range in a higher price bracket, and with even higher quality, to match up with that part of the market. However, despite the lower price of this mouse, it’s hardly a low-quality product, and truly, I’d have expected it to cost more than double what they’re selling it for.

Price vs Performance

The price really does make this seem like a budget product, but its feature set alone is really impressive. This hasn’t been built to be cheap, it’s been built to be good. The Pixart sensor delivers reliable performance and an impressive tracking range. Albeit, it’s bloody hard to find a bad sensor these days, the market has come along so far in recent years. The same with the switches, the 50M rated Omrons feel great, and have a nice tactile feel, but again, it’s all quality components here.

The mouse also has a unique look to it that matches the AGON range. This tells me the mouse has been purposefully designed to meet AOCs requirements. They haven’t just gone to a factory and put their sticker on the box. This is an AGON mouse and it looks and feels the part for sure. While it’s not built to say, eSports standards, it’s hardly lacking in build quality and performance either.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re looking for a stylish, comfortable and fantastically affordable mouse, the AOC AGM700 ticks all those boxes. However, the addition of being fully programmable, having three built-in profiles, multi-zone RGB lighting, a sniper button, and a weight tuning system really take things to the next level.
