Astro Bot Surpasses Concord’s Global Sales in Just Two Days in the UK

Sony’s Astro Bot, released for the PS5 on September 6, has reportedly sold more physical copies in the UK in just two days than Concord managed globally. According to Christopher Dring, despite Astro Bot not having a groundbreaking launch compared to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, it has outpaced Concord’s global sales figures.
Dring explained, “Astro Bot’s UK sales (physical-only so far) aren’t huge. Its opening week sales are about a third lower than 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but I expect a longer sales tail for Astro.” He added, “It’s certainly sold more copies in the UK in just two days than Concord sold worldwide.”
Concord’s Struggles and Removal from Sale
Sony recently pulled Concord from sale just two weeks after its release on August 23. The game reportedly sold as few as 25,000 copies across PS5 and PC. In response, Ryan Ellis, game director at Sony’s Firewalk Studios, stated, “While we determine the best path ahead, Concord sales will cease immediately, and we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased the game.”
Firewalk Studios, which developed Concord, was acquired by Sony in 2023. Concord had been in development for eight years but struggled to capture an audience, with reports of only 34 players in-game on Steam at the time of publication.
Astro Bot, meanwhile, continues to receive critical acclaim and is viewed as a strong contender for Game of the Year.
