ASUS Announces ROG Falchion RX Low Profile Mechanical Keyboard

I love low profile keyboards as it makes typing much smoother and faster, though unfortunately my hands tend to work faster than my head. Today a new low profile keyboard has been announced from ASUS with their new ROG Falchion RX Low Profile mechanical keyboard featuring optical switches.

ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile

The Falchion RX Low Profile is a mechanical keyboard recently unveiled at CES 2024 and was even selected as a 2024 CES Innovation Award honouree. Its key feature is its ultrathin profile of just 26.5mm within its compact 60% frame which includes the minimum of keys for gaming including arrow keys, a multifunction button, and an interactive touch panel for media control.

It utilises pre-lubed ROG RX Red or Blue Low-profile optical switches which feature centralized lighting and provide consistent wobble-free keystrokes with near-zero debounce delay. Topping these keys are UV-coated ABS keycaps with greater stain and scratch resistance vs standard ABS keycaps. The keycaps use a unique hollow-square stem, four corner latches and the X-stabilizer design. Inside there are two layers of silicone foam to eliminate echoes and switch pinging to provide great acoustics to the typing experience.

The keyboard features tri-mode connectivity via either Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz ROG SpeedNova technology, or a wired USB connection also for charging. The Bluetooth connectivity allows for a simultaneous connection of up to three devices with the ability to easily swap between them. The ROG Omni Receiver also allows for users to pair multiple ROG devices to a single USB receiver such as the ROG Harpe Ace or Keris II Mouse.
