ASUS ROG Zephyrus S (GX531-GX) Gaming Laptop Review

Storage

The particular model we tested (the GX531) comes provided with a 475GB NVMe SSD. This should provide more than enough storage space for the average gamer and, with the larger SSD capacity, also the option to prioritise a few of the games you play more often. Admittedly, the lack of a standard HDD is a little disappoint. There are not, after all, many AAA games these days that require less than circa 60GB to install.

That being said, however, the NVMe SSD it is provided with is of a perfectly adequate capacity and provides perfectly acceptable write/read speeds.

Although it isn’t necessarily highlighted in these results either, we should note that the boot-up time for the laptop is lightening quick. From cold to running, this takes about 8 seconds. Pretty impressive!
