ASUS Z87 Sabertooth (LGA 1150) Motherboard Review

BIOS

The BIOS ASUS have implemented is a UEFI design with an extensive range of options for tweaking and tuning like you’d expect to find in any BIOS. When you first enter the BIOS there is an EZ mode which contains simplified details and options – namely SATA port information and boot priorities plus all the monitoring information.

Moving into the advanced mode and you can see a much more extensive array of options. I won’t explain every part of the BIOS as most are self explanatory but you can see the breadth and depth of the ASUS BIOS. They have really though about giving you as many options as possible. As this is a UEFI you can of course use your mouse and keyboard within it.

ASUS have implemented a pretty awesome UEFI BIOS feature. You simply download the latest BIOS .Cap file from the ASUS website, dump it on a USB drive and run the updater – it really is that simple.
