German manufacturer be quiet! has today announced its new Dark Base 701 PC case featuring be quiet’s unique aesthetic with a mesh front panel, wide hardware support and award-winning Silent-Wings 4 fans.

The Dark Base 701 succeeds the Dark Base 700 with a differing approach to its overall design focus. The 700 was primarily designed for a near inaudible operation whilst the 701 has been designed for high-airflow and high-performance thanks to its fully perforated mesh panels. It offers the same easily identifiable aesthetics of be quiet cases with its sleek all-black design and two ARGB LED strips running down the front panel. It has a strong I/O with a large central power button surrounded by two dedicated ARGB and Fan control buttons as well as one USB Type-C, two Type A ports and audio input and output.

Cooling Support

The case comes with three pre-installed Silent Wings 4 140mm PWM high-speed fans capable of up to 1900RPM installed in the front and back. Users can expand their fan capacities with an additional five 120mm or 140mm fans. The front frame and top frame can both be removed and slid out respectively to make installing the fans or radiators up to 360mm much easier.

Hardware Compatibility

The 701 is capable of fitting up to E-ATX motherboards alongside large air coolers up to 185mm. GPU clearance is no problem with up to 415mm of room. The PSU bay gives up to 260mm of room plus the integrated cable routing channels provide ample cable management potential. It supports lots of storage with three tool-less 3.5″ bays and two 2.5″ bays which can both be expanded to a max of five and three respectively.

Dark Base 701 is available in black from November 14 at a suggested retail price of $229.90 / €229.00 / £229.99, while optional HDD Cage 2 drive cages and a Riser Cable for vertical GPU installation are already available on the market for €9.90 / $9.90 / £9.99 and €59.90 / $54.90 / £59.99 respectively. Dark Base 701 in white will follow next year.
