BIOSTAR Racing Z370GT6 Motherboard Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, I couldn’t find accurate pricing information. However, I would be surprised it if was much over £140, around the same price as rival products of a similar spec. The GT5 is around £100, and the GT7 closer to £200.

Overview

There are a staggering amount of Z370 motherboards hitting the market right now. Of course, you’ve likely seen that we’ve been reviewing quite a large volume of them and we’ve more to come. With that in mind, it may seem to be tricky to find the right one for you. However, performance on the majority of them is incredibly similar, and it may just be easier to pick based on something within your budget that looks good.

Aesthetics

Speaking of picking one that simply looks good, the GT6 is pretty decent when it comes to design. The angry looking yellow strips look like a giant wasp. While it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste, nothing ever is. Of course, if you need a break from the usual black and red themes we so often see, this is a great way to go. The addition of armour on the PCIe slots add to the design, and the build quality too. There’s a strip of RGB LED lighting too, which does give you some additional customisation.

Performance

As I said, the GT6 doesn’t break any records, but it can easily go head-to-head with anything else in the £100-150 price range. Gaming performance was right where you would want it to be, and short of spending over £200 on the extreme range of motherboards, you’re not going to see any major difference in performance at this price range. Either way, if this is your next motherboard, you’ll be very happy with what it has to offer.

Added Value

This isn’t the most feature-packed motherboard on the market, and it’s price will no doubt reflect that. However, it’s got all the features you could need for most high-end gaming builds. You’ll find high-end Hi-Fi audio, delivering punchy surround sound processing for your speakers and headsets. There’s also super-fast M.2 storage, and Optane support. Finally, LED lighting headers and desktop software, dual BIOS, and easy overclocking all add up to a neat package.

Pros

  • M.2 and Optane Support
  • Dual BIOS
  • High-quality audio
  • Unique aesthetics
  • PCIe Armour
  • RGB LED lighting
  • Built-in power controls
  • BIOS LED
  • Built-in I/O shroud

Cons

  • SATA ports mounted at 90-degree to motherboard
  • Couldn’t find stock at UK retailers
