CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Read
Perhaps the Venom’s moment of glory is the jaw-dropping SSD read speeds which reached an astounding 2330 MB/s. This makes the chart look rather silly now and demonstrates how far behind every other SSD, hybrid and mechanical drive is. In terms of HDD speed, there’s nothing too surprising considering the supplied drive is a Western Digital Green which prioritizes power management over raw performance.
CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Write
The write speeds are equally as impressive and manages to quantify the revolutionary nature of PCI-e SSDs. The jump in sequential tasks is monumental but doesn’t make a huge difference in most desktop applications. Moving onto the HDD writes, which were fairly terrible and only suitable for basic data storage purposes. In terms of USB 3.0 write and read speeds, the Venom just edged out the competition into first place.
